Halloween in the City!
I absolutely LOVE dressing up. In college, for my 20th birthday I had a 1920’s theme and made everyone come in flapper dresses, suspenders, pearls and gloves.
As you saw a couple posts ago - I went all out for the Mad Men party as well!
Well, I’ve heard Halloween post-grad in the city is a big deal. However every year - even in college I am always scraping together a last minute costume while all my friends had such cute and creative costumes!! Luckily my roommate Jill let me borrow her teddy bear costume, and I therefore was able to have an adorable costume that also kept me warm in the cool October weather!

Look at my paws!
Jill and my friend/her sister Caryn had the most hilarious costume ever! They were conjoined/siamese twins!! I was laughing so hard the entire night as we got into cabs, climbed stairs and entered the bar. I have to say, this was one of the most original costumes ever! They went by Caryn and Sharon =)

I kept wondering what would happen if one met a guy and wanted to dance…
Some weren’t as embarrassing — like my other roommate and her boyfriends’ costume — Wonder Woman and Superman. It was such a cute couple’s costume!

And then there were others who were a little embarrassed leaving their dorms and going into the city. One of my closest friends — Priti, and her friend Khia are students at NYU. They’re personalities are so alike and they are so funny together. So I wasn’t surprised at all when they decided to skip the lets-dress-scandalously-like-all-college-girls tradition and dress as Bert & Ernie from Sesame Street.

Notice how Bert has a unibrow and Ernie has no eyebrows…
It’s hard to remember what the puppets looked like on the show, considering most of us watched the show over a decade ago. It’s no surprise that they both told me that they got funny looks from people on the street and were assumed to be dressed as old men rather than the cartoons…

Now, I have been scouring Facebook to see what my other friends dressed up as, and I have to say one of my favorites and most well-done costumes was my bff Raina’s. Her and Sumedha are Mario and Luigi!

It’s Me, Mario!
All in all, Halloween was fun this year. I liked the costume, and got a lot of hugs from random people since I was a teddy bear. Here’s one last picture of me and the twins at a Halloween party before we decided to head out to a bar:

What were you for Halloween and what’s the most creative costume you’ve seen?
