It is literally 99 degrees in New York City. When I step outside it feels like I’m in India, Mexico, or some other vacation destination where everyone should be in tropical shorts, tank tops and neon sunglasses.

How am I staying cool? By sitting indoors at my desk at work or frequenting clothing or grocery establishments. If I were bold enough, I would have taken a “mental health day” and gone to the beach. Too bad I was on vacation all last week and can’t do that.

What am I doing now? Sitting in my converted flex two bedroom (where the AC doesn’t reach our tiny living room) in the East Village watching the movie Matilda on abc family.
