Being New York I’m constantly reminded about how Fashion Week is going on and how I don’t get to attend. I lust over the beautiful photographs posted by the fashion blogs and magazine websites hoping someday I can buy that Prada a-line skirt or Chanel handbag (or be gifted it through work or some celeb-friend).
Well for anyone who doesn’t want to spend their entire salary on one clothing item, the larger department stores do a pretty good job of “knocking off.” In fact this morning, my favorite financial savvy website LearnVest emailed me with a whole article of where to shop to get real designer-inspired clothes!
Best times to shop for designer-like clothes: Early March for Spring and late September for Fall.
Here’s a list of where to buy what according to the designer you love:

Proof that you can find something equally chic for hundreds of $$$ less:

Big Forever 21’s and H&M’s can be overwhelming, so LearnVest suggests that you keep your eye on the designers, find something you love on a blog or in a magazine and (if you’re not willing to splurge) search for the particular item in the store that is likely to replicate it. Who knows, you could find something just like it for so much cheaper.
